Eclipse Workbench for EDU Edition
MicroEJ Eclipse Workbench extends Eclipse IDE to design embedded Java applications.
The EDU version of MicroEJ Eclipse Workbench has the following features:
- Write embedded Java applications for the EDU Java Platform Kit
- Debug embedded Java applications at Java source level within Eclipse
Java Platform Kits for EDU Edition
A Java Platform Kit for MicroEJ (MicroEJ-JPK) includes a collection of Java platforms for specific hardware configurations.
A Java Platform is actually made of 3 main elements
- An Embedded Java platform (EmbJPF) includes binary runtimes for the targeted hardware
- A Simulated Java platform (SimJPF) that can be executed on a workstation so that designers do need to wait for hardware to design software
- A set of Java tools specific to the simulated and hardware platforms (programing tools, debugger interfaces etc...
The EDU Edition of MicroEJ Java Platform Kits includes the SimJPFs only as these kits aim at testing and learning embedded Java without the need to invest in hardware
